These are the mountains that inspired Katherine Lee Bates to write the poem "America the Beautiful." When I saw this picture I instantly thought of "spacious skies" and "purple mountain majesties."


My original take on the layout had the poem worked into it, but I just kept coming back to the picture. So . . . here you have it. One piece of paper, one photo, one line of text.
