It can snow in central Montana any month of the year.
Every spring I fret from mid April to mid June over our bird population.
We eagerly await the beautiful songs and calls announcing mating season.
We watch for signs of nest building and sneak around the property to
check on the nests each day.
Just when we think the birds are safe we get another significant storm
that keeps me pacing until I can run out and check the nests again.
Fortunately, nature is wonderfully adapted and the birds can rebuild for
a second or third hatch if need be.
This year we had nearly a dozen Robin's nests close to the house.
It was a joy to observe.
