For those not on FB or Instagram, we have a new osprey nest where I live in Flagstaff. This nest is still very high up in a dead tree, but much easier to photograph.
These photos are of the female who stays very close to the nest, but goes out to stretch her wings periodically. While she's in the nest, she is almost always chattering and calling for the male. If he comes back to the nest without food, he does not stay long, as she starts chattering at him. I can't help but wonder if she's telling him "If you don't have food, don't bother coming home!"
