The kit Lynn chose for this week's Wayback Wednesday challenge is gorgeous! So many wonderful textures and elements and I love the neutral, outdoorsy palette! Check this kit out!

Yes, that is Shannon... in a uniform/kit... on a field of green... but nope! It's not soccer! Say what...? *grin* She is studying abroad in Scotland this fall (at Chrissy's alma mater, the University of Glasgow!) and LOVING it! She decided to try out for the university's women's Gaelic football team and not the soccer/football team. As she said to me, "Mom, I can always play soccer, but when will I ever be able to play Gaelic football?" Indeed!
And, if you're interested... Gaelic football is the most popular sport in Ireland and most of the girls on the team are actually from Ireland! It's a cross between soccer and rugby--without the tackling--and even bears resemblance to Australian football. It's a very fast-paced and fun game! Shannon was selected for the first team and played in her first tournament last weekend. This tournament was short-sided, playing 7v7...usually there are 15 on a side. Of course, I hate not seeing her play, but I was super happy that someone snapped some photos! (I have a couple of action shots, too!) And, Chrissy is hoping to catch one of her games in the upcoming weeks, too, so there may be more Gaelic football layouts on the horizon! *grin*
