Maybe the beginnings of a little weekender booklet for the grands.

Journaling: Mollie P. and Mac have been here for a week . . . the two of them are so easy and seldom need entertaining. Lots to do around here! They each brought their roller skates, helmets, kneepads and bikes to ride up on the old road. What a perfect place for them to do their own thing! We put up a sawhorse for a barricade and never worry a minute about them.

We love when our grandchildren are "in residence" at our house in the summer time! Our house sits far back from the main road. There is a second long road, which runs a distance from the house, which was once-upon-a-time, the main road. When the new road was built in the 1950's, the old one stayed in tact but the bridge was knocked down . . . so when we bought the property we also got the old road and it's fabulous playground potential for our kiddos! We can barricade it so the children know not to go past the sawhorse.
This old portion of the road is my favorite walking path and the kids favorite bike path, wagon pulling path, roller blade and skating rink!
