The kids are moving to a new house with a bigger yard (Ryan's gonna have fun mowing this summer...) and in their new woods are lots of new feathered friends. The little barn owl - well, not so little, really - doesn't have a mate. At least, not one that I saw. The red-shouldered hawks have nested in the same tree for several years according to a neighbor. Last year, they had 4 chicks. We're anxious to see how many they produce this season. And these birds are NOT shy. They're definitely used to people being around in the yard -- which made it really nice for taking photos of them!
