Finally! A few minutes to catch my breath and do a little scrap therapy....

After our first snow (about 1/2 inch that melted almost as fast as it fell - which is fine with me) this week, today dawned bright and sunny and crisp. And now that the trees are bare, the birds are primarily feeding on wildflower seeds, like these little goldfinches. Unlike most birds, goldfinches molt twice a year and have distinctive spring/summer and fall/winter plummage. These two are males decked out in their winter finest.
