Wonderful choices for this week's "3 Kits 3 Ways" challenge on the DD blog: Designer Digitals Details Check it out! These kits were such a good match, that I only used the three kits for my layout! The papers were soft and let my photo shine, I loved the alpha and embellishments in the kit, too! I layered the photo and title over one of Anna's stamps and encircled it with the building address typed using Pattie's text byte!
And, thanks for letting me take a little trip down memory lane for me... gosh, I miss my college days!

On a recent drive with Shannon, from West LA to Hollywood, we (of course!) drove through Beverly Hills. And, there it was... the building where I worked part-time while I was a student at UCLA... thirty-five years ago! 9465 Wilshire Boulevard... right down Wilshire from the famous Beverly Wilshire Hotel (think “Pretty Woman”) and on the corner of Wilshire and equally-as-famous Rodeo Drive (think movie stars and very expensive stores!). And, yes, they’ve re-routed part of Rodeo Drive... you can see that in the photo. But, seriously... what great memories I have of working in this building. I worked for Annabelle Lewis Brown & Associates. Business managers to the TV and movie industry. I loved my sweet boss, Annabelle. And, my coworker, Vivian. George Burns was our most famous (and most loved!) client. His manager was SO funny and every Christmas, George gave me a bottle of Courvoisier VSOP cognac. I thought it was divine! I remember writing a check for his new 1975 Cadillac Seville... he paid for it in full! I couldn’t imagine... as I recall, I typed out a check for about $17,000 to Hillcrest Cadillac. Wow! Remember, I was a starving college student then! hahaha! I enjoyed my daily walk to the bank up Rodeo Drive... I saw Groucho Marx there one day. And, I actually talked to Katherine Ross (think “Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid”) in the camera store. She was so pretty and so nice! I remember buying magazines and cigarettes (yes, I smoked a bit back then...) at the little kiosk in the lobby. I even loved my walk to-and-from the parking lot down the street... especially on those blustery fall days. Man... just driving by this building sure brought back some wonderful memories for me. I truly loved everything about that job! Such a fun and exciting environment for a college student! And, it was so much fun to drive by it today! (September 7, 2009)
