Are you saving your pennies for the holidays? Here’s a way to get more from your purchases by making little changes.

    Watch this tip on video.

If you like the style of the Vintage Journal Spots, but your project calls for a less aged look, you can lighten the image in two ways:

    Method 1:

With the Vintage Journal Spot open in your software, press Ctrl U (Mac: Cmd U) on the keyboard to open the Hue/Saturation dialog box. Drag the Saturation slider to the left and the Lightness slider to the right until your Journal Spot is lighter, but you can still see the details.

    Method 2:

Open the Vintage Journal Spot in your software. Press Ctrl U (Mac: Cmd U) on your keyboard and drag the Saturation slider to the left. Next, press Ctrl L (Mac: Cmd L) on your keyboard to make a levels adjustment. Change the lightness by moving the sliders under the Histogram. Stop you are happy with the brightness, but you can still see the shadows.

By making a few adjustments, your Vintage Journal Spots can be as bright as your holidays.
