• Blending Mode Previews in Photoshop CC 2019

If you have upgraded to the Creative Cloud 2019 version of Photoshop, there's a new feature I think you'll find helpful. It is an upgrade to the blending modes function which allows you to preview the effect before applying it. Here's how it works:

    • Begin by opening a layered document in PS CC2019.
    • In the layers panel, click to target a layer you'd like to blend into the layers beneath it.
    • Above the Layers panel, locate the blending modes. By default, it is set to Normal. Click the down-arrow to open the blending mode list.
    • In previous versions of Photoshop, you'd have to click each blending mode to see the effect on your working document. But in the 2019 Creative Cloud version, just position your cursor over the blending mode names and look at the layer on your document to view the mode effect. It's a faster and easier way to select a blending mode that works for your project.

Although this is a small change in the software, I think you'll find that it is a welcome one that improves your efficiency while blending, especially while working with Blendable Layers, Blendable Layered Templates, masks, lens flares and other brushes.
