  • How can I make something smaller in Photoshop or Elements?

To resize an image, open it in Photoshop or Elements.

    Get the Move tool.

Click on the image layer to select it and then press Ctrl T (Mac: Cmd T) to get the transform controls. This places a box around the image.

Move your cursor over the to corner of the image and click on the corner. The cursor will change to a diagonal arrow.

Drag toward the center of the image to make it smaller, or away from the center of the image to make it larger. To avoid the "funhouse" effect, hold the Shift key as you drag in Photoshop and early versions of Elements. In later versions of Elements, do not hold the Shift key as you drag.

To resize an entire document in Elements, you can go to Image > Resize > Image size and type in the new dimensions.

In Photoshop, the path is Image > Image size. This will resize the whole document at one time.
