A mash up challenge provides you with the opportunity to blend and mash two templates, using any combination of elements from the two of them in whatever way that inspires you!
I find at this time of year, as the schedule starts to heat up with holiday fun, templates are such a fabulous way to get my scrapping done without stressing! You simply pick and choose the elements of each page that you like and really make it your own.
There was so much delightful inspiration from the Quarterly Chats that happened last week, I really felt like I wanted to use some of the new templates in the store to go with a Christmas theme. Of course, there are no rules, so you may find another way to combine the elements of each template even if it isn’t about the holidays.
With this layout, I really loved the photos with the corners on the Collage Page December Layered Template No. 01
I also really liked the background of the Layer Works No. 1014.
When I combined them together along with all the great new papers from the Golden Season Bundle, it was a hit! I love how it turned out. I also added a few elements from the Evergreens Scrapbooking Bundle.
Kathleen, one of our Guest Creative Team members, cleverly took the triangle masks from the Layer Works template to make the tree in the background. On her page she also used: Vintage Christmas No.2 Disc Alpha **coming soon!!**, Joyous Christmas Add-On Paper Pack, and Jingle All the Way Brushes and Stamps, and Anchors away Solids Paper Pack.
Kate also hopped on this challenge and created this gorgeous page! Look at those trees that shine with the new Golden Season Scrapbooking bundle (my new favourite bundle in the store)!
I hope that these pages will inspire you to combine these templates into your own creation. Remember to post your pages in the Template Challenge Gallery, using all DD products. Also, remember to post a link of your page in the November Challenge Participation Thread, so it will count toward your saving in the rewards program. Have fun and I can’t wait to see what you create!
