Template Mash-up Challenge: Snow, snow, snow

We are dreaming of snow these days! The temperature has dropped and the mountains that we can see from our town are capped with a beautiful blanket of white. The local ski hill is now open for the season and the kids are dreaming of getting out on their snowboards and skis.

Alas, here at home in the Lower Mainland, we are stuck with rain and wind, and being so close to the ocean, we get very little snow during the year, much to the disappointment of the kids (and me!) When it does snow, it causes havoc on the roads and as little as an inch of snow means schools close for a “snow day”.

For this month’s Template Mash-up Challenge, I have chosen two templates that relate to snow. The very recent, Snow Day Layered Template No.2 and Studio DD Layer Works No. 640.  I just love selecting the elements from each template and making the page my own!

Here is how these two fantastic templates inspired me:

In addition to the two templates, I also used Christmas Lodge Sentiments Brushes and Stamps and Just Linens Paper Pack No. 18.

Rachael (myssp) created this wonderful page – look at those sweet photos! I love how she added a shadow onto the snow – it made such a cool effect!

Erin (Ernie88) caught some great action photos of her kids playing in the snow on her page.

Kathy (Blackkathy) also joined in the fun and created a page for this challenge. She also showcased some great photos of fun times in the snow.

I hope that you will join us in creating a “snow” page in the Template Challenge Gallery.  Also, remember to post a link of your page in the December Challenge Participation Thread, so it will count toward your saving in the rewards program. Have fun and I can’t wait to see what you create!
