Story Scrapbook Challenge

So October is Halloween month but I’m not going down that path for this challenge.  But I kind of am, bear with me here.   This month I want you to tell a story of a time you have been scared, where fear has gripped you, that moment of angst of despair.

We could go down a myriad of rabbit holes here.   The despair of losing employment, the fear of being gripped by a disease, the holding of a loved ones hand in hospital when they were in pain, being burgled, having a car accident, the despair of not being able to pay your bills, the nightmares, death, the fear of a scary ride, the phobia fears like jumping out of a plane, heights, standing on the edge of a cliff, the claustrophobia of being enclosed in a small room, the fear of the future, being gripped by the black dog, the sadness of overwhelm.

We do tend to scrap the good times don’t we, but it’s equally as important and quite cathartic to scrap the bad too.  We all have fears in our lives, large and small, everyone’s fear will be on a different scale, but we’ve all experienced fear.  Are you going to be brave enough to scrap your fear?

The creative team have jumped on board with some terrific example pages:

This page by LizzieT scraps her very real fear of heights, something I bet a lot of you reading attest to.  Loving that dotted swirls too giving the feeling of swirling round and round.

Rache has braved telling her fear, but firstly how is her blending her face into the paper.  I’m really gobsmacked as to how she’s conveyed a huge sense of fear in this page but at the same time it’s beautiful.  And I'[m about to go get the iPad and scroll in as I need to read the journalling that prompted this page.

I have scrapped a particularly fearful moment of terror where my husband was bitten by a dog.  The adrenaline was pumping, the fear was real.

The team at DD have generously provided a freebie to help you on your way, the link is good for the entire month of October.  I hope the goodies inspire you.   I am really looking forward to reading your stories.

Post your pages in the Scrapbook Challenge Gallery and don’t forget when you use ALL DD product on your challenge page you should post a link of your page in the October Challenge Participation thread so that it will count toward your savings in the rewards program.  Everyone’s a winner!
