Saturday Scraplift: Travelling colours

Hiya, welcome to another Saturday Scraplift, the last of the month. It’s a bright day today here in Scotland, though it seems that summer is coming to an end, with the wind picking up and a hint of frostiness early in the morning.

This week I’ve chosen this page by OKate. I was drawn to the colours of the photo against the neutral background. I also love a vertical design. with those strips of twill and stitches. There’s also some great subtle brushwork going on.

I went with the same design for my page, choosing a photo from my recent trip to the Orkney Islands off the North Coast of Scotland. There’s so much history there, these stones are part of a ring which was built several thousand years ago. It’s free to wander round, and amazing to think of the work involved in creating it all those years ago!

I used Vintage Photo Frames No. 37; Artistry de Blanco Kit; From my bookshelf No. 01 Kit; Basic Twills: Words No. 01; Fresh Vintage: Asha Scrapbook Collection; Frosted Fun Scrapbooking Kit; Fresh Vintage: Clare Scrapbook Collection; Classic Navigator brushes and stamps; Walden Scrapbooking Kit; My Family Genealogy Flashcard Words; Library Card Collection: Basics; Roughed Up Maps No. 07; Page Blends No. 05; Fresh Vintage Albia: Solids Paper Pack; Readymade Borders: Traveler No. 02; Painted Quatrefoils Brushes and Stamps No. 01.

I thought I would only use a few products on the page, but it was fun adding more little touches! There are so many details to Kate’s page to inspire you, so get thinking. Post your pages in the Saturday Scraplift Gallery so we can leave some love.

Also, you’ve still got time to count this as a challenge page for the rewards scheme. Post your pages containing 100% Designer Digitals products, and keep track of your pages in the rewards thread for August.

Happy Scrapping!
