Happy weekend friends! It’s time for another Saturday Scraplift and as we get closer to Christmas, I really enjoy all the holiday inspiration in the gallery. I’d say today’s page jumped out at me, but actually, it’s a soft layered page that doesn’t jump but rather casually says, “look at me”. And when you do, I hope you love it and are inspired by it as much as I was.
Today we are lifting former Guest CT member Kathleen (kathleen.summers) and her beautiful page about choosing their Christmas tree. I imagine this is how Christmas tree shopping looks in Australia too. My tree will be covered in snow when I pick it up this weekend. 🙂 I was really drawn to Kathleen’s layering. The double tree elements from the Country Christmas kit worked really well together as well as the layers of roughed up papers. The muted tones really allowed the focus to be on the pictures but still add great subtle interest to the page.
I enlisted the help of DeLisa (DELISAK) this week. She chose one large photo (of some very large ornaments) to highlight with her layers. The overall design was repeated but with brighter holiday colors.

If you have seen my SSL posts, you know that I can be very literal in my lifts. This week is one of those weeks although I did change up a bit of the elements used to add more red. I too loved the new Country Christmas Kit that Katie designed and spent a lovely day shopping at the town next to mine and Kathleen’s design lent itself perfectly to my photos. I thought the title brush work sticker was a great idea and worked really well with the white alpha in the kit. Being somewhat cluster challenged, I loved being able to pull parts of Katie’s new Vintage Christmas No. 2 Layered Frames into my design as well.
Thanks for stopping by to check out the new SSL. I look forward to seeing where this inspiration takes you! Please remember to post your page in the Saturday Scraplift Challenge gallery as well as in the December Challenge Participation thread in the forum. Have a great weekend!
