Saturday Scraplift: A scrap in time

Morning, it’s time for another Saturday Scraplift. This week I’ve been enjoying the sunshine and the end of our current school timetable. Next week the classes all move up to their new year groupings, so it’s all new seating plans and photocopying going on here!

For my choice this week I couldn’t go past Squeak’s (Shirley’s) page. I always love her pages, and the stories she adds in the description. This page has such a lovely story of her looking to recreate a photo of her mother from many years ago.

I love the two photos side by side, and the brushwork complementing while not distracting the eye. I can see this design being good for a series of photos, or like Squeak you could compare photos from different years. I went a different direction, using photos from Wednesday when the cousins played together. We had chalks, and decorated the paths and pavements around their grandparents’ house.

The design allowed me to use two photos, and left space for the watery mask to extend the right hand photo to display the artwork. I then had fun choosing doodly brushes to add to the playful feel. I used Canvas Cardstocks No. 13; Watery Photo Masks No. 09; Watery Spots Brushes and Stamps No. 11; ArtPack Stars No. 01 Brushes and Stamps; Doodled Flowers Brushes and Stamps No. 01; Watery Word Transfers No. 01; Watery Hearts Brushes and Stamps No. 03; Fastened Frames No. 07; Chalkboard Alphabet No. 05; Rory Kit.

Now it’s your turn, I’d love to see your pages based on Squeak’s design. Post them in the Saturday Scraplift Gallery so we can leave a comment. Pages with 100 % Designer Digitals products are also eligible for the rewards scheme. You can keep track of your progress with this by posting in the June Challenge Participation Sign-in thread for June. Now I’m off to enjoy the sunshine.

Happy scrapping!
