Saturday Scraplift: Rule of Thirds

Welcome to another Saturday Scraplift! My computer’s power supply is toast (yes, it’s horrible!) so I am unable to participate in this week’s challenge but 3 design team members stepped in to help me with this week’s darling inspiration from Shannamay (Sharon)

I was instantly smitten with this page. I loved the sweet face, the multiple frames, the newsprint and the great use of the Rule of Thirds. If you aren’t familiar with the Rule of Thirds here is a quick definition from

“The rule of thirds simply states that if you take a canvas and divide it into three equally sized horizontal sections and three equally sized vertical sections, the resulting grid provides a sort of “roadmap” that helps you choose where to place your design elements.”

Up first, is earlofoxford (Linda) with her sweet family page. Not only did she follow the Rule of Thirds, but she also added in a faded photo to anchor the bottom portion of the page. And such a great use of elements too. Just Linens Paper Pack No. 18, Golden Pretty Element Pack, December Stories Element Pack, Floridian Dots and Stripes Paper Pack, Cambrianna Element Pack,Good Times Brushes and Stamps, Floridian Add-On Paper Pack, Love That Add-on Page Titles,  Botanist Notebook No. 25 Element Pack, Bridle Creek Element Pack, Brierley Element Pack, Chimayo Element Pack, Deckled Edge Photo Frames: Vintage No. 03, Classic Curled Photo Frames No. 01, Botanical Bliss Element Pack No. 01, Hamilton Mini Kit, Drop Shadow Styles No. 02

readstoomuch (Mollie) is up next with her gorgeous vacation page. She also added a faded photo for added weight at the bottom of the page and the layered frames are the perfect addition. I also love the history of this charming town.

Banner Strip Words: Spring No. 01, Clipped Stacks No. 07, Grungy Ledger Grids Brushes and Stamps No. 03, Naturally Krafty No. 15 Paper Pack, Torn Templates No. 02, Watery Photo Masks No. 06

Finally, I give you beehive50 (Debi’s) selfie page. Once again, she brings her unique graphic style to the SSL. Between the Rule of Thirds, the soft colors and her brilliant mastery of brads, this page is wonderful, but the photo makes it spectacular. I recently took a selfie with my Dad and I love it so this photo melts my heart and I’m so happy to hear that her Dad is doing well. Garden Trails Solids Paper Pack, Garden Trails Paper Pack, Watery Brushes and Stamps No. 04, Twisted Dots Brushes and Stamps No. 02, Title Lines Brushes and Stamps No. 18,  Clipped Stacks with Layers No. 14, Garden Trails Element Pack

Thanks to my girls for the big assist this week, I hope you too will find inspiration from Sharon’s page. Please post them in the Saturday Scraplift Gallery so we can leave a comment. Pages with 100 % Designer Digitals products are also eligible for the rewards scheme.
