Saturday Scraplift: Playing with Paper Blocks

It’s always a treat to return from time away to see all the goodness and creativity in the gallery. While I was browsing the gallery after returning from a cruise, I saw Deanie’s delightful page celebrating the Fourth of July. Of course, the adorable photo immediately caught my eye, and then I focused on the blocks of patterned paper that formed a foundation for her page – absolute perfection in red, white, and blue! Several of my teammates jumped at the chance to lift Deanie’s page – here’s how they were inspired.

Deanie’s page

I love the blues and greens with pops of yellow on Sharon’s (justbnsharon) beautiful page, as well as the delicate brush work accentuating that sweet photo. The tucked-in stamp, the fastened tag, and the chipboard circle all frame her design so well.

Liz (lizziet5) used patterned paper boxes in graduated sizes to draw the eye to the gorgeous photo of her daughter. The orange and gray together are a winning color combination, and I love the word strips she’s used throughout to unify her design.

Patsy (ptabbert) also used Katie’s new mango-hued kit for her page – itching to play with it myself! That black and white photo is such fun, and I love the technique of using black and white photos when I want to play with color on a page. Great showcase of this fun new product, Patsy!

If you love playing with blocks, you’re going to find lots of inspiration in Deanie’s page and the pages of my friends Sharon, Liz, and Patsy. Post your lift in the Saturday Scraplift Challenge Gallery as well as in the July Challenge Participation thread. Can’t wait to see what you create – happy scrapping!
