Good design is always a delight to the eyes. That’s how I felt when I saw Merr’s (digigrandma) beautiful page in the gallery. Of course, she has a wonderful photo front and center, but what really draws me in is the “shelf” she created to ground her photo and design. Her elements and brush work extend on either side of her photo, and her large title supports it from beneath. To tie it all together, the pops of red create a unifying visual triangle. My fellow Creative Team member Liz joined me in lifting Merr’s page. Here’s how she inspired us.
Liz’s (lizziet5) page features a gorgeous shot of her daughter and son-in-law surrounded by and perched on all sorts of goodies, including brush work, foliage, and word art. I love how she has managed to use words, word art, and word strips in so many creative ways in her design. She’s also incorporated a number of circular elements in the forms of flowers, tags, and epoxies.

For my page, I used a photo of my mother and my grandchildren taken on the occasion of my mother’s 90th birthday about 18 months ago. I decided to build a shelf filled with items associated with birthday celebrations. For my title, I used one of Katie’s fun typewriter clusters which worked perfectly.

I think you’ll have fun being inspired by Merr’s creative design. Remember to post your lift in the Saturday Scraplift Challenge Gallery as well as in the January Challenge Participation Sign-in thread in the forum. Happy scrapping!
