I just love the way ideas can go round and round with seemingly endless permutations. I loved Connie’s (connieg) page for the Saturday Scraplift on the 2nd of January. Sharon Grey’s original page was gorgeous; a worthy Saturday “Scrapliftee”, and Connie’s take on it was stunning!
The subtle blended photo was a brilliant way to add context to the lovely photo of her husband in that gorgeous frame from the Christmas Wishes Kit. I liked the way she added a horizontal ‘line’ to her vertical photo arrangement with the heartrate line, and each element in her simple little cluster was carefully chosen to add to the theme of her page.
I was inspired by her work to scrap a couple of photos that my DD sent me of the grandchildren playing in muddy puddles at the beach. I used the same frame as Connie for my focal photo and clipped the other to one of Katie’s lovely watery Photo masks (The No.8 pack). Katie has some new Date Strips in the shop that were perfect for adding that horizontal line (I’m not very good at remembering to include a date on my pages so this kills two birds with one stone as it were!). A ribbon from the Good Day Kit, and a flair from the Bessette Kit and I was almost done. I just added some Messy Spotty Edgers to finish off the Canvas Cardstock background.
I really enjoyed working on this layout and I hope you will be equally inspired by Connie’s lovely lift of Sharon’s page! Please post your pages in the Saturday Scraplift Challenge Gallery. Who knows . . . maybe someone will be inspired by your lift of Connie’s lift of Sharon’s page!! Don’t forget to link your page up in the January challenge participation thread if your page qualifies.
