I am in awe of the scrappers in our community who make brushwork an integral part of their fabulous designs. That’s probably why I immediately fell in love with the page Deborrah (DivaMom96) did for Bailey’s last template mash-up challenge. She used brushwork to showcase a terrific black and white photo of her two sons, and the way she snuggled her stamped title around the corner of the picture makes for such a cohesive design. Jana, Liz T, Sharon E, and I all jumped at the chance to take inspiration from Deborrah’s page to create our own.
Jana (jana) used a cool effect on her photo and pulled colors from it for her design. Her circle brushwork, twists, and word art give great energy to her page. A layered frame like the one Jana used is also a super way to work in more brushwork and color on your page.

Liz (lizziet5) gave pride of place to a sweet photo of her daughter and son-in-law and then did a masterful job of layering brushwork under and below it. Her soft color palette really makes the black brushwork pop.

There’s so much to love about Sharon’s (Shannamay) delightful page, starting with the fun photo any mother or grandmother of small children can appreciate. I like Sharon’s creative blending of Katie’s new chevron paper with her photo, and those signature buttons are always perfectly placed and extend the circular brushwork.

I had fun looking through my stash for brushwork to tuck behind a photo of my honey, and I knew I wanted to wrap my title around the corner of the picture. I kept the background neutral and pulled color from the blue of my husband’s shirt.
