Saturday Scraplift: Layering Patterned Papers

I love patterned paper – have ever since I was a paper scrapper many moons ago. I know it’s not always the easiest element for scrappers to use, but this week’s Saturday Scraplift should help with that issue. Trisha (trishaf) layered patterned paper to anchor her photo and to introduce subtle colors that perfectly complement that sweet baby picture. Liz and I were both inspired by Trisha’s design, and here’s where it took us.

Liz (lizziet5) found patterned papers that match the soft colors of the fun photos of her daughter and son-in-law. I love the layers of photos, elements, and papers that make up Liz’s page, and the top cluster and word art work together to draw the eye through this terrific design.

I used a technique that works very well with patterned papers you love: if the colors in your photo don’t match the colors in the papers, convert your photo to black and white. That’s what I did so that I could use these cool new papers from Katie. I had fun layering pocket cards under my photo for some dimension.
