Saturday Scraplift Challenge: Precise meets Playful

Happy new year and welcome to the first scraplift challenge of 2018! And what better way to get us off to a good start than to lift a delightful page created by Sharon (Shannamay)!

It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of Sharon’s work – she is one of the most consistent scrappers I know and I love that she has an amazing knack of choosing a handful of elements that are perfect for enhancing her photo and her story. Sharon’s pages are, for the most part, created with a precision that is so beautifully neat and structured, like every piece is so meant to be there… and then there’s the playful aspect, the buttons, the brushwork, the strings or bows, and often the story, that add to the wonderful flair in Sharon’s work, page after page after page.

I knew I wanted to lift this gorgeous page entitled When life gets hard, the moment I saw it in the gallery. Just look at the neat and glorious detail – I do hope you’ll join in on the lift!

Linda (earlofoxford) was quick off the mark to rise to the challenge. Making great use of the super new Kotka goodies in the store this week, Linda swapped in some pretty elements that compliment the lovely black and white photo of her family. I love the soft and pretty brush Linda chose and how she’s nestled in those paper strips and added a line of journaling. A beautiful lift, Linda!

Here is Linda’s supply list: Kotka Solids Paper Pack, Kotka Paper Pack, Kotka Element Pack (all new in the store this week), Watery Sacred Geometry Brushes and Stamps No. 01Beloved Element PackDocuStack Layers No. 02Banner Masks No. 01Classic Curled Photo Frames No. 07Clean Stitched Rounded Corners: White No. 01Scripted Story Love Brushes and StampsDrop Shadow Styles No. 02 – all Katie Pertiet

Guest CT member, Deborrah (DivaMom96), was inspired by Sharon’s page to change things up a little bit by using the wood veneer geometrics as a backdrop and to showcase some pretty patterned paper. Deborrah has also demonstrated here just how versatile the readymade layers – borders series are, that she could intermingle those layers with her photo and other elements on her page. A gorgeous lift, Deborrah!

Deborrah used these products: Monthly Memories Paper Pack No. 01Watery Grids Brushes and Stamps No. 08Wildwoods Add-On Paper PackAdorable Moments Brushes and Stamps – Katie Pertiet; Layer Works No. 578 and Readymade Layers: Everyday Borders No. 03 – Studio Double-D.
