Good morning and welcome to this week’s Saturday Scraplift Challenge! Before we take a look at the challenge, check out the 4th quarter sale that’s on in the store right now! The sale continues until 6am EST on Friday November 17th so it’s a great opportunity to get all those goodies off your wish list, into your basket and onto your hard drive!
There’s also some fun activity planned in the forum today with some chats, freebies and gift certificates for the store up for grabs and a 30 Minute Masterpiece Challenge! So don’t miss out – log in today!
So onto the scraplift… this week we’re going to be lifting this lovely page created by Anke. A two-photo page is a little bit of a challenge in itself for me as I’m nearly always an ‘odd number’ type of person but I love the balanced design of Anke’s page, the soft tones and the Autumnal elements she used. A stunning page!
Esther was keen to jump in on the challenge and I love the nautical look of her ancestral lift and how she tracked down an illustration of the ship! Esther followed through with the soft tones and the coral seaweed, beautifully shadowed, provides a lovely contrast against those tones. The newspaper snippet is a perfect alternative to a second photo and I like how the twist connects the two focal points. A super lift!
Esther’s product list: Autumn Rambles Add-On and Solids Paper Pack, Autumn Rambles Element Pack, Autumn Rambles Scrapbooking Collection, Autumn Rambles Washi Tapes, Autumn Winds Element Pack, Beached Element Pack, Blendable Layers No. 71, Watery Maps Brushes and Stamps No. 03, South Beach Element Pack and Whale Stories Dots and Stripes Paper Pack – Katie Pertiet; Readymade Layers: Beach Borders No. 06 – Studio Double-D.
Julie (MaggieMae) switched out the paper strips with a pretty blendable top left but also kept with those soft Autumnal tones. I love how the photo’s of this gorgeous girl are nestled on the hand drawn botanical and how my eye moves clockwise around the lovely detail in this lift. The scatters and border finish this project off beautifully. A really pretty lift!
Julie used the following: Pumpkin Spice Solids Paper Pack, Pumpkin Spice Paper Pack, Pumpkin Spice Element Pack, Autumn Winds Essentials Paper Pack, Autumnal Flore Blendable Layers – Katie Pertiet; Handdrawn Layers No. 01, Hand Scripted Brushes and Stamps No. 02 and Readymade Layers: Fall Borders No. 14 – Studio Double-D.
Elisabeth (lego) was inspired to take up the challenge and create another page for her recipe book. I love how great this design looks in a format that’s different to the normal 12×12, how the eye is drawn to both images with the fine line twist and the paper strips. A delicious page!
I hope you’re inspired to take on the challenge and lift Anke’s lovely page. When you’ve done so, please post your page in the Saturday Scraplift Challenge gallery and if you use all DD products on your page, remember to link it in the November Challenge Participation thread so it works towards a discount coupon for the store for you!
I’m off to start my lift, have a great Saturday and I’ll see you in the galleries!
