Hello and welcome to this week’s Saturday Scraplift Challenge! When I first saw Uly’s (Maruma) page in the gallery, I was immediately drawn to the pops of red. Upon opening the page, my eyes feasted on the contents. Uly’s daughter, a photo of whom I had the pleasure of scrapping in the last photo swap challenge, certainly has one of the best ideas for breakfast that I’ve heard in a long time!
There’s so much to love about this page, aside from that quirky little breakfast tip. I love how perfectly balanced this page is with the finer details positioned strategically around that super stitched circle and how the word ‘Summer’ is beautifully blended – and repeated – on the backdrop. All this, set against the checked border makes for a real eye-catcher of a page, for sure!
Three CT members jumped at the chance to lift Uly’s page and I can’t wait to show them off!
Patsy (ptabbert) was quick off the mark with her lift. I love how she was inspired to take the lead from the stitched circle and used one of those gorgeous geometric grids that have been so popular of late, also following through with some pops of red which are very appropriate for the Florida Strawberry Festival, and a pretty polka dot border. To finish, Patsy added a tag and a couple of flairs. Gorgeous!
Patsy’ supply list: Vintage Blendable Layers No. 24, Monthly Memories Element Pack No. 07, Spill Frame Layers No. 12, Antiquarian Artistry Solids Paper Pack No. 01, Antiquarian Artistry No. 01 Dots and Stripes Paper Pack, Drop Shadow Action Set – Katie Pertiet; Layer Works No. 962, Layer Works No. 961, Readymade Layers: Red, White and Blue Borders No. 02 – Studio Double-D.
I always enjoy seeing work by artists who have enlarged an element or two… it never fails to be an ‘a-ha’ moment for me – just like the heart pointer that Chrissy (kikimama) has increased considerably and shadowed too! I love that two of the clusters are anchoring it down and how the large blended photo backdrop tells more of the story about the extraordinary hot weather we are enjoying in the UK at the moment! Beautiful!
Chrissy used the following: Heart Pointers Brushes and Stamps No. 1, Hamilton Mini Kit, Be Merry Solids Paper Pack, Gator Crossing Kit, Cut Ups: Summertime, Plated: Summer, Painted Summer: Surf Paint No. 1 Mega Pack, Lila Bleu Scrapbooking Kit, Livin’ Barefoot Brushes and Stamps, Swimmies Epoxies, Life Lines Scrapbooking Kit – all Katie Pertiet.
Agnieszka (Arte Banale) works pretty blendables with traditional elements so beautifully and she didn’t hold back for this lift either. Foregoing a layered border, Agnieszka chose some soft blendables to add detail to the backdrop of her lift A gorgeous mix of dainty elements compliments the pretty image, giving this lift a touch of whimsy that is also a strong feature of Agnieszka’s signature style. Stunning!
Here’s what Agnieszka used: Blendable Layers No. 91, Anzio Scrapbooking Kit, ARToption Mini Mix No. 05, Vintage Engraved Clusters and Layers No. 4, Watery Butterflies No. 4 – Katie Pertiet; Readymade Clusters: Anzio – Studio Double-D.
