Saturday Scraplift Challenge: On the Diagonal

Good morning everyone!
I seem to be mostly scrapping single photos these days (often filched from my daughter’s facebook or instagram accounts!!), so I’m always on the lookout for new and interesting single photo layouts. This striking page by Kelly (wsprite_ad), caught my eye as being eminently scrapworthy!!!

I loved the stacked and tilted paper background, the single photo topped by a clustered border and the grand celebration of a family achievement that this layout is.

When I put it to the creative team, Linda (earlofoxford) and Liz (lizziet5) quickly agreed with me. I just love that the three of us all used Katie’s new Wildwoods Scrapbooking Collection (new in the store this week) to scraplift the same layout, and yet came up with three quite different pages for your inspiration today.

Linda ‘cut’ large triangles of patterned paper rather than using whole sheets, and used a series of photos rather than a single shot, with her clustered border running vertically rather than horizontally. I love that her page celebrates her lovely family at Easter time. It is such a fabulous lift!

As well as Katie’s new kit, Linda has used Edge Overlays No. 06, Around Words Brushes and Stamps No. 02, Classic Curled Photo Frames No. 05, From My Bookshelf Blendables No. 04 and Drop Shadow Styles No. 02. She used the triangles from the Layer Works No. 702 template.

Liz documents one of those everyday unexpected joys that we should all learn to focus on a little more. She has moved her stack of papers into a horizontal position, has stayed with the single photo and the cluster on top. I love the clean and simple look of her page.

Along with the Wildwoods Collection, Liz has used Thin Classic Photo Frames Curled and Flat No.01, Bold and Scripted Today Brushes and Stamps and Twisted Stitches No. 03 Neutrals.

I took the opportunity to document some hard family decision making at our place lately. Instead of stacking papers, I ‘cut’ slivers of paper to achieve a slightly different effect. My single photo is topped by a somewhat larger cluster, but I liked and used Kelly’s idea of surrounding her photo with text.

The only product I used outside of the new Wildwoods Collection is the Classic Curled Photo Frame (No. 07).

I hope that you will be as inspired by Kelly’s layout as we were! We’d love to see your diagonally stacked pages so please post them in the Saturday Scraplift Gallery. You can also join in with the rewards scheme to earn vouchers by using 100% Designer Digitals products. Keep track of which challenges you’ve completed in the April Challenges Sign In Thread. Happy Scraplifting!
