Saturday Scraplift Challenge: Cornered

As I generally host the first SSL of each month, I feel I always open my posts with “can you believe it’s June… August… October…” or whatever the month is but seriously, it’s November, people! That’s insane! But I hope you’ve all had a good week and you’ve got some chilling time planned for this weekend – and that it includes a little scrapping!

This week we’re lifting the wonderfully talented Agnieszka (Arte Banale). Her page entitled Color My World has all the usual characteristics of Agnieszka’s work… a gorgeous image, pretty brushwork, some carefully chosen elements, wonderful white space and one terrific design!

Straight in on the challenge was Guest Creative Team Member, Addie (agoymerac). I love that she switched up her lift with really pretty green and teal tones. This is a lovely lift and the photo is adorable!

Addie used the following products: Curated Studio Mix Scrapbooking Kit No. 35 – products by Katie Pertiet and collection curated by Kayleigh Wiles; Every Moment Brushes and StampsVintage Photo Frames No. 36From My Bookshelf Overlays No. 01 – Katie Pertiet; Layer Works No. 368 (outer stitching edges) – Studio Double-D.

Jana flipped the design and was inspired by the soft pink tones of Agnieszka’s page, and true to Jana’s style, she rocked the pretty blends and the lovely image provides perfect pop top right! Gorgeous!

Here’s what Jana used: Vintage Artistry Paper Pack No. 01Blendable Layers No. 02Blendable Layers No. 33Blendable Layers No. 96Vintage Blendable Layers No. 03Pencil Line Flowers Brushes and Stamps No. 02Stacked Vintage Photo Frames No. 05Vintage Taped Sentiments No. 02Blendable Layers No. 43Artistry de Blanco Element PackTypewriter Clusters Brushes and Stamps No. 07Terra Botanica Element PackBlendable Layers No. 40 – all Katie Pertiet.

Wendy took the opportunity to scrap this image of her pretty daughter. Like Jana, Wendy also switched to the right corner for her image… I’m sure there must be something about which way the brain works as to which corner one would select but, that aside, I love that the creators of all of these pages has selected the perfect corner – the one which allows the person/s in the image to be looking into the page rather than immediately off it… just a little design tidbit! I’m loving the green and earthy tones here and the vintage frame is perfect! A beautiful lift!

Wendy’s supply list: Vintage Artistry Paper Pack No. 01Scribbled Overlays No. 02Watercolor Blends Layered Template No. 14 (paint and leaves), Vintage Mix Clusters Brushes, Stamps and Layers No. 17Typewriter Clusters Brushes and Stamps No. 09 (leaves), Typewriter Clusters Brushes and Stamps No. 10Artsy Blend Layers Leaves No. 02,, Vintage Photo Frames No. 36Wooden Alphabet No. 10Fastener Basics No. 01Fall Garden Element Pack – Katie Pertiet; Readymade Layers: Fall Borders No. 18 – Studio Double-D.

I followed Jana and Wendy, opting for the top right corner for the bulk of my detail – whatever that may mean psychologically! I really enjoyed this lift and it inspired me to scrap this child of mine who is turning 28 next week. Oh.my.days! I swear she was only, like, 6 yesterday! But getting back to the lift – it’s testament to Agnieszka’s page design skills that none of us who took on the challenge for this post deviated much from her design!

I used: ARToptions Krafty Paper Pack No. 02Inked Border Strips Brushes and Stamps No. 01Thin Classic Photo Frames Curled and Flat No. 01Monthly Memories Element Pack No. 08Monthly Memories Element Pack No. 10Monthly Memories No. 10 Painted LayersMonthly Memories Element Pack No. 11Color Essentials Pink Element PackVintage Mix Clusters Brushes, Stamps and Layers No. 17Pocket Cards: Layering Sentiments No. 01Neutral Word Bits No. 03 – Katie Pertiet; Readymade Layers: Botanical Borders No. 04Hand Scripted Brushes and Stamps No. 23 – Studio Double-D.

So I hope you’re inspired to join in on the lift! When you’re done, post your page in the Saturday Scraplift Challenge Gallery and if you use all DD products on your page, remember to post a link to your page in the November Challenge Participation thread so you can work towards a coupon for the store!

Have a lovely weekend and I look forward to seeing  you in the gallery!
