Happy Saturday everyone! Is there anyone else out there just like me… so thankful that it’s weekend?! And what is better than taking a little time to check out this week’s scraplift and getting a page in the gallery? I’ve had this page of Erin’s (Ernie88) in my favourites folder for a while and I was thrilled when some of the Creative Team and Guest Creative Team jumped in on the lift. It’s interesting to note that we were all inspired to keep the diagonal from bottom left to top right – a true testament to Erin’s great design!
Quick off the mark was Lynnie (grandma lynnie), matching up a large blended photo with a perfect music paper to form the backdrop for her wonderful image. Am I the only one that didn’t know Lynnie plays guitar?!
Here is Lynnie’s supply list: Letter Box Kit, Fine Lines Border Lines Brushes and Stamps No. 02, Musical Epoxies No. 01, Musically Quoted Brushes and Stamps,Rimmed Framers No. 01, Krafty Journal Spots No. 02, Sentiment Flairs No. 04, Flossy Stitches: Blue, Loosely Labeled Dates No. 01A – all Katie Pertiet.
The mix of soft tones, the black brushwork and title work create great contrast in Maureen’s (maureen reynolds) lift and I like how well the grey stripes work with the gentle plaid paper. The page is balanced nicely with the journaling which lets us in on the story behind the image – bless him! I’m sure he’s happy with his little sister now though!
Maureen used: Baby Blush Element Pack, Best Friends Layered Template, Classic Curled Photo Frames No. 06, Happy Place Layered Template, Shining Star Clusters No. 02 – Katie Pertiet; Candice Paper Pack, Candice Solids Paper Pack, Desmon Maskros Paper Pack, Ledina Paper Pack – Maplebrook Studios.
Julie (MaggieMae) made great use of the new Color Essentials Lime range for her lift, using plaid and dotted paper, a great matting for her image, and carrying on through with the lime for her brushwork and the finer details of her lift. Bear looks so cuddly!
Here’s what Julie used: Color Essentials Lime Paper Pack, Color Essentials Lime Painted Layers, Color Essentials Lime Ribbons and More, ARToption Mini Mix No. 02, ARToption Mini Mix No. 05 and Assorted Messy Stitches: White No. 03 – Katie Pertiet; Hand Scripted Brushes and Stamps No. 03 – Studio Double-D
I’ve felt a little bit in a rut with my own scrapping lately so I chose Erin’s page for the scraplift because I knew I’d be challenged with the diagonal. I have to admit that I was tempted to swing it a little (ok, more than a little!) so the page was simple split down the middle instead. But as I studied Erin’s page more, the more I was happy with how my page was starting to look with the diagonal. I was also inspired with the star detail that Erin used. So Erin, if you’re reading this, this page is all down to you, my friend, thank you so much for the inspiration!I used: Simple Mini Mix No. 01, Simple Mini Mix No. 02, Thin Classic Photo Frames No. 04, Monthly Memories Element Pack No. 05, Cedar Crest Element Pack, Antiquarian Artistry No. 01 Element Pack, Color Essentials Turquoise Element Pack, Color Essentials Turquoise Painted Layers, Painted Star Clusters and Layers No. 01, Vintage Flashcards: Adjectives No. 01, Typewriter Clusters Brushes and Stamps No. 05, Stamp Sets: Wild World, Twisted Stitches No. 02, Stapled Stacks Stars No. 01, Typed and Scripted Brushes and Stamps No. 09, Stitched Word Squares No. 01, Neutral Word Bits No. 03 – all Katie Pertiet.
