Saturday Scraplift: Blend and Frame

The Saturday Scraplift is one of my favorite challenges – even when I’m not hosting it. I guess it is because there is something inspiring every week and there aren’t any rules other than to be inspired.  As I looked for something for this week this fabulous page by Chrissy jumped out at me. There were so many aspects in it to provide inspiration. There’s the big blended photo, small framed photo and little clusters, not to mention potential for lots of white space.  So, what inspires you?

It’s always fun for me to see where the inspiration piece leads our CT members. Three of our talented ladies quickly offered to create a page based on how they were inspired by Chrissy’ s (kikimama) page. First up is the lovely quilt page by Shannamay (Sharon). I love quilts (not the quilting, just the finished product!) so this really caught my attention. I like that she used a big photo of her gorgeous quilt and added wonderful journaling to tell her story. Sharon used the following products for her page:  Watery Photo Masks No. 04, Wood Veneer Rounded Corner Photo Frames No. 01, Spark Joy Brushes and Stamps, Artsy Blend Layers Botanicals No. 01, Darcy Gardens Element Pack, Antiquarian Artistry No. 01 Element Pack, Antiquarian Artistry Solids Paper Pack No. 01, Just Linens Paper Pack No. 89.

Our second sample is from, Guest CT, Diane (dvhoward55) and the feel of this page is wonderful. This is such a special photo. She certainly did an excellent job blending and creating an almost antique feel. I like the use of two smaller clusters and they are both different. Diane used: ARToptions Krafty Paper Pack No5Blendable Ephemera No. 02, Curated Studio Mix Scrapbooking Kit No. 37Curated Studio Mix Scrapbooking Kit No. 38, Layer Works No. 1063.

Jana created this spectacular page using photos from a Chihully Glass display. The bright colors on the darker blue background are so dramatic! I really like the artsy piece she added to the lower right corner that carries the vibrant colors. Jana created her page using: Remnants Overlays No. 01, Blendable Layers No. 101, Catching Rainbows Solids Paper Pack, Fine Line Twists Brushes and Stamps No. 03, Painted Flourishes No. 02, Label Me Brushes and Stamps No. 01, Bold and Scripted Today Brushes and Stamps, Clipped Stacks No. 06, Painted Photo Masks Brushes and Stamps No. 08, Watery Scribbles Brushes and Stamps No. 07.

I was inspired to use a photo of my DGD that I’ve been intending to use for quite a while but had not been able to come up with a way to use it. Chrissy’s page pointed me in the right direction, and I was able to complete a page using a couple photos from taken on the same day. I used: Fine Line Border Lines No. 12Make Your Mark, Monthly Memories Vol. 02: Element Pack No. 03Monthly Memories Vol. 02: Foundation  No. 03, Page Fades No. 01, Photo Clusters No. 62, Vintage Mini Mix No. 05, Vintage Mini Mix No. 08.

I hope you are already feeling inspired and you are ready to create!  I’m excited to see where today’s scraplift leads you! Be sure to post your page in the Saturday Scraplift Gallery. If you use 100% DD products, your page qualifies for the rewards program, so don’t forget to post it in the March 2019 Challenge Participation Thread. I hope you have a delightful Saturday and I’ll be looking for your page in the gallery.
