There’s a lot glittering at this time of year, including gorgeous pages in the gallery here at Designer Digitals. I’ve enjoyed so many of the beautiful Days of December pages that have been posted that I chose one for this week’s Saturday Scraplift by the talented Joanne (jcaruth910). I love her golden brush work, the slide reel cluster, and a great focal photo. A trio of my fellow Creative Team members took inspiration from Joanne and created their own golden beauties.
Julie (MaggieMae) chose the perfect photo as the central focus of her design, a shot of glittering Christmas lights on a snowy night. I love how she extended the golden brush work trees on either side of her photo, and the snowflake on the slide reel is the perfect accent. A winter wonderland, indeed!

Esther (esther_a) also opted for a picture of Christmas decorations – an enormous reindeer sculpture with stained glass highlights. Look how huge it is in comparison to the nearby chairs! She complemented the sculpture with golden reindeer brushes and a little pop of color with the greenery and holly berries.

Kathy (Blackkathy) created such a sharp page by adding a visual triangle of black to the gold and white color scheme. I find that a bit of black on a page is often just the right striking touch. Her picture gets attention through the lovely photo treatment and the carefully chosen elements surrounding it.
Whether you adopt Joanne’s color scheme or design plan, I think you’ll find plenty of inspiration in her page. Remember to post your page in the Saturday Scraplift Challenge gallery as well as in the December Challenges sign-in thread in the forum. Happy scrapping and Merry Christmas!
