March Color Challenge: Sprouting Spring Greens

Up here, north of the 49th, we are still enjoying winter! Long, dark stretches of grey skies with week-long downpours, not to mention the temperature is still quite cold leaving us feeling damp and chilled. At our house, we still have the fireplace on most evenings and avoid walking without slippers. I know that the saying goes, “There is only bad clothing, not bad weather!”, but at some point we crave the sunshine and not having to wear winter boots everyday!

It is also at this time of year that if you look really closely, you start to see the birth of spring. I look around my garden (which is still a mess, by the way) and I see a thousand hues of green from the ferns to the evergreens to the fresh new buds are ready to burst on the trees. Out of the soil, green spears are starting to sprout, the early stage of daffodils, tulips and other spring flowers.

For the March Color Challenge, we are going for fresh spring greens! I find it a challenge to scrap with this colour, but I just have to look outside for some amazing inspiration!
