In the world of scrapbooking, pretty is nice. It is what most of us strive for. With beautiful paper and elements we add our photos and journaling to be saved for generations to come. But sometimes, don’t you just want to switch things up? “Messy” can be so much fun and it sure did generate a lot of interest from our CT.
This challenge is a call to your inner child. Can you come out and play? We hope so! For this play date Katie is sharing some of her digital toys with us for a starting point, and you can pick them up here: MESSY FREEBIES. Hopefully there is something in it that will inspire you to get your messy on. Be sure to include at least one of these in your page. This is what our messy creative team members have been up to:
Debi lost her mojo and didn’t know where to find it. Then came along this challenge and she took it as a form of scrap therapy. In her own words, “It was just what I needed.”
Along with the challenge freebies, Debi’s page includes:
Artsy Long Line Scribbles Brushes and Stamps No. 01, Bold Sentiments Brushes and Stamps No. 14, Flair Minis No. 04, andHappy Christmas Solids Paper Pack
DeLisa designed a page that is both messy AND beautiful. This is ARTjournaling at it’s finest.
DeLisa used all 3 of the freebies, plus Brilliant Life Element Pack, Brilliant Life Solids Paper Pack, Dating 2017 Brushes and Stamps, Harvest Fields Element Pack, Clustering Bookshelf Brushes Stamps and Layers No. 01, Documenting Life Notebook Art Journal Layered Template No. 03, Roughed Up Pocket Cards: Striped No. 10 and Watery Blumes No. 16
Kate’s take on the challenge is a true example of messy, right down to the quote:
Kate used Grunge Overlay No.5 from the freebie pack along with Tidewater Solids Paper Pack, Canvas Typecast Blends Brushes and Stamps No. 01, Artsy Grunge Clusters Brushes, Stamps and Layers No. 02, Watery Spots Brushes and Stamps No. 10, Watery Blumes No. 16, Pencil Line Flowers Brushes and Stamps No. 05, and Pencil Line Leaves Brushes and Stamps No. 05.
Our last messy page was designed by Sharon. She calls it, “Hello New Reality.” I’d be willing to bet that there was a little scrap therapy going on here too.
Along with the freebies, Sharon used these supplies: Painted Under Over Frame Layers No. 01, Painted Patterns Brushes and Stamps No. 03, Painted Pencil Lines Drawn Mix Brushes and Stamps No. 02, Stamped Sentiments No. 11 Brushes and Stamps, Wood Veneer Words No. 20 and Spring Walk Solids Paper Pack.
