iTunes: Sunshine Overlay

Heya, welcome to another iTunes challenge. The year is flying past, and the nights are fair drawing in. So when it came to choosing an album cover for inspiration, I knew I wanted bold warm colours.

The album I’ve chosen is Version 2.0 by Garbage. It’s been a favourite of mine for years, with many hours spent listening to it while working in the lab on my PhD.

For scrapbook pages you could be inspired by the colours. If you have any Halloween  or pumpkin patch pages still to create, this could be perfect. I also love the large shadowed title. Then there’s the texture, I feel like I could reach out and touch the cover. Maybe you have many small photos to use from an event. This could form a photo collage.

I went back to summer for my page, using a photo from our vacation to Southport in the Northwest of England. I used a large photo, and placed a textured paper from the freebie pack over the top. I changed the blending mode of the paper layer to ‘overlay’ which created the lovely textured/ gradient effect.  The pier in the town is over 1 000 m long, with a cafe at the end. Strangely the sand on the beach continues out to this point, and it’s still a long way to the actual sea!

I used the challenge freebie, along with Woodside Jangle Kit and Defining Words No. 04.

Now it’s your turn, let me see your pages inspired by this album cover. Katie’s generously provided a freebie paper pack to help you out. Post your layouts in the itunes inspiration gallery. Remember to keep track of your pages in the Rewards Thread for November to earn store discount.

Happy scrapping!
