iTunes: Geometric Beauty

Happy Monday, and welcome to this month’s iTunes challenge! It’s an exciting day today with schools going back in my area. I’m looking forward to seeing all the photos of smartly dressed kids ready to start.

This month I’ve chosen this pretty album cover by Chvrches.

I love the large photo, the simple title block. I can see ways of interpreting the color blocks using the geometric products in the store.

Christine used this gorgeous photo of a lighthouse on her page. I love the blue she chose for the diamond brushwork, creates such a serene layout. The reds in the element cluster and the text really pop! The wood background paper adds enough texture to build up the interest too.

Christine used Pencil Lines Alpha No 5; August 2018 iTunes Freebie; Stamped Badges Summer Brushes and Stamps; Stamped Badges Beach Brushes and Stamps; Evergreens Solids Paper Pack; Scribbled and Scratched Photo Frame Brushes and Stamps No. 01; Messed Up Overlays No. 02; Beached Element Pack; To the Sea Element Pack; Oceania Element Pack.

Deborrah went with the blocks idea for her sweet page.

I love the soft pink palette, and the range of photos. Putting photos in a block is a great way to start a page design, then you can add embellishments to build texture. Deborrah’s title work is fun too, with the patterned paper alphas.

Deborrah used Pretty in Plaids Paper Pack No. 01; Page Blends No. 10; Darling Baby Element Pack; Captured You Layered Template; Botanical Colors Pink Blends; Filed Photo Frames No. 07; Bliss Scrapbooking Kit; Color Essentials Pink Paper Pack; Botanist Notebook No. 25 Element Pack.

For my page, I chose a photo of my girl and her friends at a Little Mix concert last month. It was the first concert she’d been to and she loved it! Especially as she could enjoy it with her best friends.

The geometric pink blocks in the original inspired me to use diamonds on my page – for the title work, as an accent and over the photo.

I used the challenge freebie; Tidewater Solids Paper pack; Stitched Geometrics No. 03; You and Me Kit.

Now it’s your turn, show us how you are inspired by the album cover. Katie’s generously provided a freebie to get you started. Post your pages in the iTunes challenge gallery so we can leave some love. Remember to keep track of your challenge pages in the rewards thread for this month to earn a store discount too!

Happy Scrapping!
