iTunes: A brush of light

Hiya, and welcome to another iTunes challenge. We’ve had our Easter holidays and it’s back to work, for me it’s just one more week till my senior students leave for their exams. That’ll give me more time for all the other tasks on my list!

This month I’ve gone for a fun album cover, with plenty of potential for inspiration.

I was drawn to this by the colours initially. I’m certainly hoping I’ve seen the back of winter for the year, and the colours seem spring-like. Then there’s those bold white brushstrokes, making me think of a mask on a photo, or perhaps some gesso. I love the pencil-lines in this section of the cover and what’s going on in the background. Then there’s that fun window frame, always an interest-adding feature on a scrapbook page.

Debi, Sharon and I have created pages for this challenge, each one took inspiration in a different direction!

I went for a large photo, this is my family in Trafalgar Square, consulting the map to find our way to Buckingham Palace.

I used a couple of filters on layers of the photo, and masked these to give an area for my title. Supplies used: Gator Crossing Kit; Watery Spots brushes and stamps No. 11.

Debi was inspired by the window in the inspiration piece, and that fun brushwork adds so much energy with that bold yellow!

Debi used Farm Style Solids Paper Pack No. 01; Scratchy Scribbles Brushes and Stamps No. 01; Big Bottom Lift Classic Photo Frames No. 02; Flair Minis No. 04.

Sharon also took inspiration from the window, as well as the colours to create this fun page. I love the fun photo treatment!

Sharon used Forever Fresh Solids Paper Pack; Vintage Side Lift Photo Frames No. 01; Stamped Blocks No. 40 Brushes and Stamps; Handdrawn Mix in Outlines Brushes and Stamps No. 01; Pumpkin Spice Element Pack; Splatters Brushes and Stamps No. 03

Now it’s your turn, please share your pages in the iTunes gallery. Katie’s kindly provided a freebie for the challenge to get you started. Also remember to keep track of your pages in the rewards thread to build up towards a discount in our rewards scheme.

Happy scrapping!
