Home Decor Challenge: Bold Color

Happy Hump Day All! Hillarey here with our second installment of the Home Decor Challenge. This months challenge features bold colors and textures! That table is the most striking piece of furniture I’ve seen, combined with the beautiful mirror and those bold background stripes; this image just screams inspiration! Debi (Beehive50), Arte Banale (Agnieszka) and I have created some beautiful pages to get you inspired.

Decor inspirationDebi’s page is about her husbands love for the E46 M3 BMW in Laguna Seca Blue and how one day his dream of owning one will come true! Debi’s inspiration came from the storage boxes underneath the table and she used them to create that awesome “M” monogram. I also love how she combined Lynn’s Summer Burst paper (freebie!) with  a Mablebrook Studio’s Just Linen No. 61 paper to create that soft striped background!

Agnieszka page features a lovely inspirational quote and loads of lovely goodies! Her inspiration came from the striped background, the cool table and the greenery in the photograph! I love how she mimicked the table legs by using the sea horses! Her color choices are absolutely beautiful as well!

My page documents something new I discovered during our recent vacation; crooked smiles! I’m always looking for family resemblances in the kids and when I came across this picture one day I realized that my son and I both have crooked smiles! My inspiration for this page came from the position of the table in the picture as well as the color of the table, I was also inspired by the striped background but felt I needed some natural elements on the page to off-set all that color, I was also very inspired by the cool frame and improvised my own, creating one using a frame from the Brielle Collection and combining it with a doily sticker from the Crowning Affair Vibrant Collection! I also added in some greenery from the inspiration page, again to soften all the orange and blue!
