I love Valentine’s day. Even more, I love making scrapbook pages to document the special people in my life, especially when we have so many wonderful templates available here at Designer Digitals to make it easy.
When I want to mash-up two templates, I open both of them in Photoshop side by side and start to drag items back and forth to see what works. Usually, I just turn off other elements because you never know if you will want to use them later on. It would be a shame to delete them if you decided that you needed them later on.
For this month’s first Template Mash-up Challenge, I’ve chosen two templates with the theme of love. The first is a recent one that I adored for the candy hearts and the sweet heart-shaped frame, Love Grows Layered Template.
And this one, Layer Works No. 634, which is just jam-packed with so many goodies and elements that you can really customize to create your own mash-up page.
I knew that I wanted to keep the composition of the page basically the same, so I left the placement of the frames and the elements on the left and then filled in the space on the right with the heart-shaped frame from the other template. Because I tend to use a bit more white space on my pages, I lightened up the brushwork a bit and removed the journaling which I didn’t need on this page. This is what I ended up with.
I hope that you will join in the fun and create a page for the Template Mash-up Challenge! Be sure to post your page in the Template Challenge Gallery. If you use 100% DD products, your page qualifies for the rewards program, so don’t forget to post it in the February 2019 Challenge Participation Thread.
