Color Spots Scrapbook Challenge: Vintage Summer

Hot summer days have it here where I live. We try to enjoy the outdoors as much as possible, but sometimes that gets tricky with the heat. This month we will be working with a different palette than we normally would this time of year. I was inspired by the heat and post processing of a few photos I came across. The post processing looks like a vintage photo. So with that, our palette this month, is a vintage summer! Below are the photos that I found for our inspiration.(photo credit)

A few team members joined in on the challenge. I (KimR+) used a brown textured background paper, this was inspired by the sandy walk way. The various browns and yellows along with Katie’s new Scratchy Masks No 4 give my page a vintage feel with a modern twist. And one of my favorite items, Katie’s Lens Flares Colors, just had to make an appearance on my page with the fun sun flares and sun burst in the inspiration photos.Supplies used: Almost Spring: The TagsBanner Strips No. 01Clipped Journalers Layers No. 01Coffee Stains Brushes and Stamps No. 01, Collage Stacks Layers No 2, Crowning Affair: Understated Element PackFiled Notebook 4×6 Journalers No. 01Garden Trails Scrapbooking CollectionHand Scripted Brushes and Stamps No. 04Inked Arrows Brushes and Stamps No. 01Jason Solids Paper Pack, Layer Works No 965, Lens Flares: Colors No. 01Long Strips: Alphabet No. 01Pinned: Wood Veneers No. 01Pocket Cards: Ledger Dates No. 01Pocket Cards: Rainbow Dates No. 01Roughed Up Pocket Cards: Striped No. 10, Scratchy Masks No 4, Splatters Brushes and Stamps No. 03Stamped Blocks No. 11 Brushes and StampsTwisted Dots No. 01, Vintage Photo Frames No 47, Washi Tapes Bookshelf No. 02, Watery Foliage No 21, Watery Washes No. 04 Brushes and Stamps

Shannon (shannonroller) pulled out a sweet photo of her son. Like me, Shannon used the Lens Flares: Colors as well! I adore the placement of the whimsy bird over the brush. The dot paper Shannon used reminds me of the dandelion photo. Such great colors from the sun set in her cluster too!Supplies used: Collage Stack Layers No. 01, Cute Mini Kit No. 1,  Vintage Photo Frames No. 46Vintage Mini Mix Kit No. 06Lens Flares: Colors No. 01Readymade Layers: Darcy Gardens BordersHand Scripted Boys Brushes and Stamps No. 01

Audrey (adrianita) was also up for the challenge to play along with these fun vintage summer colors. Her choice of background paper is just perfect, not just for the colors, but also the pattern and feel of that paper that says so much on her page. I love how the photo of the ruins is in a way similar to the boardwalk of the last inspiration piece. Her page has me ready for a vacation to Mexico!Supplies used: Color Challenge Freebie 0718, Scratchy Masks No. 4, Collage Stack Layers No. 2, Archiblend Clusters and Layers No. 1, Page Fades Clipping Masks No. 01DelMar Shores Solids Paper PackTextured Whites Paper Pack No. 01Instamatic Frames No. 04Arlesey Artsy PaintArlesey Scrapbooking KitInked Arrows Brushes and Stamps No. 01Striping Graphic Brushes and Stamps No. 04Clock Parts No. 07Grunge Overlays No. 04Fresh Vintage: Clare Element PackAntiquarian Artistry No. 01 Element Pack

Patsy (ptabbert) was more inspired by the final photo with the blues and greens. Even the mountains have similar lines as the wooden boardwalk. Just look at how amazing her simple page is with the cluster and textured overlay. Supplies used: Scratchy Photo Masks No 4, Destination Memories Page Titles, Destination Memories Layered Template No. 10Lens Flares: Colors No. 01
