Color Spots Scrapbook Challenge: Grey Skies

Call me crazy, but I love rain! The smell of rain is so refreshing. Maybe it’s because I grew up in states that receive a lot of rain and now I live in the desert. There’s a saying, “April showers, bring May flowers.” Since it’s April, let’s focus on those rain showers for our color challenge this month! Here are a few inspiration pieces!(photo credit)(photo credit)(photo credit)

A few creative team members were up to the task of creating more inspiration pieces for the color challenge! I (KimR+) thought of starry nights while camping far away from the valley. The inspiration pieces are mainly soft grey with just a little touch of dark and black, so I tried to stay soft. A few dark touches with the dark night were inevitable! Supplies used: Baker’s Twine: SeaBits of Nature No. 01Brilliant Life Element PackCambrianna Element PackCedar Crest Scrapbooking BundleClean Stitched: White No. 01Clipped Stacks No. 13Coin Holder Photo Frames No. 01Clustering Bookshelf Brushes and Stamps No. 03Curated Studio Mix Scrapbooking Kit No. 29Daisetta Scrapbooking CollectionDictionary Blendables: Traveler No. 01Doodledo Circles Brushes and Stamps No. 02Fine Line Scribbles Brushes and Stamps No. 01Fine Line Twists Brushes and Stamps No. 04Inked Arrows Brushes and Stamps No. 01Pencil Line Leaves Brushes and Stamps No. 05Star Glows Brushes and Stamps No. 01Stacked Vintage Photo Frames No. 06Stitched Circles Clean and Messy: White No. 1 Value PackWhale Stories Solids Paper PackWildwoods Element PackReadymade Edgers: Neutral No. 01

Deborah (Deborah Wagner) created a sweet monochromatic page about her pups. Notice how the soft textured background paper is similar to the soft sweater in the inspiration piece. The various textures in her border are the perfect addition to the soft paper and large photo.Supplies used: Beloved Element PackDog Park Element Pack, Blendable Layers No. 86Black, White and Pink KitBlack, White and Lime KitAlmost There Solids Paper PackMy Darlings Layered Template No. 01Watery Photo Masks No. 06Readymade Borders: Love No. 06Hand Scripted Pawsome Brushes and Stamps No. 01

Sherry (digi371) created a fun monochromatic page following the inspiration pieces. Notice how she pulled out the subtle pattern from the scarf and the stitching reminds me of the large knit blankets.

Sharon (Shannamay) was also up to the task of creating a page, and a stellar page she did! The various text elements from the paper and stitched circles along with the pencil look to be inspired from the laptop and notebook on the bed of the inspiration piece. Maybe the woman is holding up her work bag as well!
