Color Spots Scrapbook Challenge: Cruella Devil

October is such a fun month. The colors all around us are changing. The leaves are vibrant, the grass isn’t nearly as green as it was a few weeks ago. Fall decorations are up, and there is an autumn chill in the air. With Halloween just a few weeks away, I figured it would be fun to have a color challenge that isn’t exactly your traditional color scheme. Red and Black are the colors we will be playing with this month. Here are a few photos of inspiration as well as a few pages from the creative team and guests!

Uly (Maruma) created a fabulous Halloween page using Katie’s new kit. How perfect are the star glows here on her page! They have that fun eery touch as the bats fly around in the dark night. Supplies used: Batty Mini Mix Solids {coming soon,  Batty Mini Mix, My Wish Layered TemplateStar Glows Brushes and Stamps No. 01Torn Classic White Photo Frames No. 03Skeletal Remains Brushes and Stamps No. 01Curated Studio Mix Scrapbooking Kit No. 15

Wendy (wendymck) put together a beautiful page of her daughter’s recent homecoming dance. I just love the rustic wood paper behind the elegant photo along with the red glitter.  Supplies used: Batty Mini Kit by Katie Pertiet, Autumn Winds Solids Paper Pack, Curated Favorites Paper Pack No. 01: WoodsFrosted Fun Element PackIt’s Black and WhiteRedwork Element PackRed, Black and Creme KitKrafty Alphabet No. 02: WhiteClean Stitched: Black No. 01

Irene (Scrappin Irene) also created a non spooky page with these colors. Just look at the stunning photo. I want to dive right in and listen to the music along with her! Her fun layers and brush work are superb! Supply list:Batty Mini Mix Elements, Batty Mini Mix Solids, Redwork Element PackKrafty Love Element PackBlack Cream and Red KitArtsy Lace Clusters Brushes and Stamps No. 01Musically Quoted Brushes and Stamps No. 02

I (KimR+) pulled out some Halloween photos from a few years ago. Katie’s new kit was just perfect for the photo of my two girls. A vampire princess and Utah cheerleader don’t get scarier than this. But the fun flying bats and the web overlay were fun to play with!Supplies used:Batty Mini Mix Elements, Batty Mini Mix Solids, Best of 2014 Brushes and StampsFlair Minis No. 04, Halloween Overlays No 2, Readymade Layers – Halloween Borders No 1, Scripted Curves No 5, Washi Tapes: Halloween

Feeling inspired? I am eager to see the gallery fill up with red and black during the next few weeks! Your page does not need to be Halloween related! Katie has generously provided us with a freebie to get you jump started on this challenge even more! When you complete your page, post them in the Color Challenge Gallery for everyone to see! If your page qualifies for the rewards program, then don’t forget to link up your page in the October Participation thread for proper credit. Happy Scrapping!
