Color Spots Scrapbook Challenge: Buffalo Plaid

It’s the holiday season! This is my favorite time of year to get out my camera and take pictures. Christmas photography can me so much fun. The different lights, sights and the hassle and bustle are all great things to document. Last year around this time, I fell in love with the popular buffalo plaid. This is where I drew my inspiration for this months color challenge.

Karen (KarenC) was inspired to play along and created this adorable gingerbread house page! I love the different pattern papers she used, including a plaid! Karen also included the pine branch brush and some snowflakes, both of which are in a few of the inspiration pieces! And how perfect is the worn paper, just like the worn textured pallet piece above the mantel.Supplies used: Candied Christmas Add-On Paper PackCurated Studio Mix Scrapbooking Kit No. 18Holly Jolly Element PackHolly Jolly Roughed Up Cardstocks Paper PackWatery Photo Masks No. 01Holly Jolly Painted Layers

I (KimR+) enjoyed creating a page for my Days of December album. To me Christmas colors are red and green. The added black is a fun contrast. I love the textured palette above the mantel in the inspiration photo. I used the brick paper from the December Stories Collection to add texture. The red berries in the inspiration pieces inspired me to have scattered red snowflakes. And of course, I love having greenery on my pages so the added pine branch was a must for me!Supplies used: Arctic Whites Paper Pack No. 02Assorted Messy Stitches: Peppermint Mix No. 01Assorted Patterned Tapes: December No. 01Days of December Frames No. 02December Journal Labels No. 01December Stories Scrapbooking CollectionNotebook Journalers No. 02Peppermint Woods Element PackRed, Black and Creme KitThis Life Layered Templates No. 06Handscripted December Brushes and Stamps No. 02Layer Works No. 750Layer Works No. 753
