It’s summer and if you’re like me, your July is basically flying by. I came up with an idea that isn’t strictly ArtJournal-ish, but will hopefully be easy enough for everyone to play along. The challenge is to use a patterned or busy background. That’s it. The rest is up to you. There are plenty of us who prefer to use white, or light colored solid backgrounds and shy away from anything busy, that might take away from your photo or design itself. I firmly believe that you can do both. Why not give it a try? Katie has given us a couple of freebie’s to get us started, but you can use any of the fabulous DesignerDigitals papers. The louder the better. Now is not the time to be shy. 🙂
Freebie’s can be downloaded here: July ArtJournal Freebie.
In my example I used the black and white patterned paper from Katie’s freebie pack. Busy? Sure is. Distracting? In my opinion, no.
Other DesignerDigital products included are: Maybe Not Paper Pack, Summer Gardens Element Pack, Brilliant Love Element Pack, Brilliant Life Element Pack, Botanical Colors Chartreuse Element Pack, Golden Pretty Scrapbook Collection, and Vintage Side Lift Photo Frames.
I hope you are inspired to take on this challenge. When you do, please post your pages in the ARTjournal Challenge Gallery and don’t forget when you use ALL DD products on your challenge page you can post a link of your page in the July Challenge Participation thread so that it will count toward your savings in the rewards program.
