Artsy Challenge: Let’s Paint With Cards!

Welcome to this month’s artsy challenge! When I think of artsy, I immediately think of painting. Something I love to do is to “paint” with beautiful journal cards. This is actually very easy to do and gives such a painterly effect to a page. It’s also a great way to stretch the use of all the journal cards you might have in your stash. Katie’s new 50 cards/50 days on her blog are perfect for this! Simply clip a journal card of your choice to a paint mask and resize it as desired. You can change the blending mode and opacity level to create many different effects. I love how the card interacts with the paint texture to give any page a new artsy look! Katie has a wonderful freebie to help get your started. jcaruth (Joanne), Arte (Agniezska) and Aino from the creative team have provided beautiful examples of painting with cards.

I love how Joanne painted a card onto her photo as an overlay and then painted another one onto a paint mask behind the photo. Her elegant blending style really shines through and her page is beautiful!

Agniezska created a lovely page with a delicate painterly look. I love the botanical elements she used! And isn’t her photo adorable?

Aino painted a colorful page and combined it with an awesome quote. I love how she showcased the large journal card! Gorgeous!

Finally, here is my arty page. I used multiple journal cards and painted them to various paint masks both behind my photo as well as in other areas of my layout.
