Artsy Challenge: Fading away

Everybody ready for our monthly artsy challenge? Since I am spending the summer in Charleston, some days I feel like I am fading away in the heat down here, so I thought I would put that into the challenge and have you create a page with a little fading going on 🙂 You could use a gradient on something or just use one of Katie’s awesome masks. Here is a cute little freebie Katie graciously put together for the challenge

As usual I have a couple of examples to show you what I had in mind 🙂 Look how cleverly Sam Ellis used the the blendables and I just love how the title fades into the photo. She calls herself a novice but I think she did a darn good job with her first try at artsy!! Aside from the freebie items she also used Worth Repeating: Family #01 brushes and stamps

Here is Melissa Hill’s beautiful page

It is so clever how she used a fading colored paper and clipped it to the wordart. In addition you have the fading words on the left. Here is what she used:

K.Pertiet: Enjoy the Moment LT #2, classic cardstocks:festive brights paper pack, touches of paint paper pack #3, worth repeating overlays #4, Hey Missy Add on Paper pack, frame hangers #1

Here is my page as well

I used the same overlay as Melissa on the right hand and I did a lot of fading all over the place as you can see, the butterfly brush, the mask to which I clipped a paper.. here are the supplies I used: K. Pertiet: K. Pertiet wood veneer frames #2, wood veneer frames #1, traveler sentiments, ticketed journaler #1, pocket cards symbology, Finley solids, bold and scripted #6, calne journalers, corner banners traveler, geolabels traveler, clipped stacks #7, vintage blendables #3, splatters #3, ledger grids #2, artsy challenge freebie. Quite the list, I know.

Well, I sure hope you will join us and let us see how you interpret the challenge. Please make sure to post your finished page in the  Artsy Challenge Gallery so that I can find it. The challenge will run through Sunday Noon and I will draw a random name for a 5 $ gift certificate to the store, so make sure to enter!! And as always, enjoy!!
