Adobe Photoshop Tips: November 29: Trim the Bloat

Article Details

At our home, the holiday season has begun; where holiday season equals feasting on turkey, dressing and pumpkin pie. After all that rich food, it’s time to slim down. There’s a quick and easy way to trim the bloat in Photoshop and PSE. File size bloat, anyway.

When you are building a scrapbook page, you often have elements that extend beyond the page boundaries. Although you can’t see them and they don’t show up in your prints, they are there taking up precious hard drive space. When you have completed your page, you can trim the size by choosing Select | All from the Menu bar then Image | Crop. This trims away all of the excess file information and reduces your file size. With all that extra space, you’ll have more room for the fun stuff like digital papers and elements!

If only slimming those holiday pounds were as quick and easy. Sigh.
