Digital Scrapbooking Tips

When you are working on a scrapbook page, you’ll likely want to use a number of papers, elements and photos. You can save yourself a little time by opening a group of images at one time.  Here are several ways to do this:

Begin by opening Photoshop or Elements.

Press Ctrl O (Mac: Cmd O) on your keyboard. That’s the letter O, not the number zero.

This activates the Open dialog box.

From the Look In box, select the folder on your system where the images can be found.

To open all of the images in the folder:

·        Click on any image in the folder and then press Ctrl A (Mac: Cmd A.) This selects all of the images. Click Open to bring them into your software.

·        You can also click the first image, hold the Shift key and click the last image.

·        Or you can draw out a box that encompasses all of the images and click Open.

To open a range of images:

·        Click on the first image you want to open, then hold the Shift key and click on the last image you want to open. This selects the range.  Click Open.

·        Or you can draw out a box that encompasses the images you want to open and click Open.

To open a number of nonsequential images:

·        Click on the first image, then hold the Ctrl key (Mac: Cmd key) and click the other images you want to open. Click Open.

To open just one image:

·        Double-click the image you want to open. This bypasses the “click Open” step and opens the image in your software.
