How to Use Part of a Template on Another Project in Photoshop or PSE |
|||||
This week, we are continuing our series on using layered templates more efficiently by mixing and matching parts of templates to come up with a new design. Begin by opening a digital project or a new document. Then open a template that contains an element, text path or title you’d like to use. You’ll want to see both documents at once in the editing window. To do this in Elements, choose: Window > Images > Float all in Windows. In Photoshop choose: Window > Arrange > Float all in Windows. (For older versions, choose Cascade instead of Float all in windows.) Get the Move tool and drag the two documents by their title bars until they are side by side. Select the template and find the layer you want to use on your project. Click and drag the layer from the Layers Panel onto your project document. Release when it is directly over the second document window. Holding the Shift key as you click and drag will deposit the layer in the same position as it was on the template. By mixing up your template pieces and parts, you’ll be able to create pages that coordinate and stretch your scrapbooking dollars a little further. |
