Digital Scrapbooking Tips

These days, our lives are so full of activities and distractions, it’s difficult to carve out large chunks of time to work on our Photoshop projects.  When you do have some time to work, it’s nice that Photoshop and Elements automatically remember the last ten projects you edited. Using this function, you’ll be able to pick up where you left off.  (Just remember to save your projects before you exit the software!)

Without having to search for them, simply open your software and select File > Open recently edited file (Elements) or File > Open recent (Photoshop.)

If you’d like to ask Photoshop to remember more than the last ten projects, you can specify the number (up to 30 recent files) by pressing Ctrl K (Mac: Cmd K) on your keyboard or selecting Edit > Preferences from the Menu Bar.

In Elements, select Edit > Preferences > Saving files.

In Photoshop, choose Edit > Preferences > File Handling.

Under “Recent file list contains” change the number to the number of files you’d like Photoshop to remember and click OK.

Now when you select File > Open recent, you’ll have even more recently edited projects to choose from.
