Adobe Photoshop Tips: January 30, 2010: Reflection: How to create a mirror image

Article Details

Last Updated
11th o January, 2011

January 2010 is coming to a close. It has been a month for both reflection on the past year and looking ahead to the coming months.

Reflecting in Photoshop and Elements is easy to do. You can create a mirror image with just a few clicks.

When you want to create a mirror image of a photo in PSE, select the photo layer and choose Image > Rotate > Flip Layer (Horizontal or Vertical).

To flip an open photo in PS, choose Image > Rotate Canvas > Flip Canvas (Horizontal or Vertical.) If the photo is a layer on your digital project, select the photo layer and choose the command Edit > Transform > Flip (Horizontal or Vertical) instead.

This comes in handy when you need your subject to face the opposite direction or you’d like to flip a scrapbooking element to make it fit on your page.
